Discover Villeray

Shunned for a long time, Villeray has finally made its way as Montreal’s hot destination! With its Jarry Park, cafés, restaurants, pubs and local designers, this area boasts a neighbourhood life that has nothing to envy from the Plateau, Mile-End or La Petite-Patrie.

Bordered by the tetragon formed by the Crémazie Boulevard, Casgrain Avenue as well as Jean-Talon and Casgrain Streets on the northern center of the Island, Villeray is the Eldorado of small families, young professionals and students. Vibrant and peaceful at the same time, this area offers the best of both worlds to those who are looking for a well-balanced life far from being boring!

Thanks to its three subway stations (Crémazie, Jarry and Jean-Talon. However, De Castelnau and Fabre are also pretty close!) spread on the blue and orange lines, its innumerable bus routes and its access to highway 15 and 40, you can easily get anywhere you want, be it by public transport or car.

Nonetheless, the best way to appreciate the true value of Villeray is on foot or by bike. The neighbourhood is pretty well equipped with bike paths and bixi stations. During your little walk, stroll down the little alleys and streets; you will be charmed by the apartments built in rows, the spiral staircases and the beautiful, green trees. Take some time as well to visit several designer workshops and boutiques side-walled on Villeray and De Castelnau Streets. Who knows, maybe you get to make friends on the way! In Villeray, all the reasons are good enough to chat with the neighbourhood folks.

A lot of other places are as suitable to build relationships, just like the Lajeunesse Community Centre and Patro le Prévost, where several cultural, sports and leisure activities are offered. There is also Jarry Park, the relaxation hotspot during the long, sunny, summer days. Bring your barbecue and a blanket and make a nice picnic by the pond.

Villeray is a neighbourhood of elegance and fine dining

It is impossible to talk about Villeray without mentioning its fine dining opportunities; for the last few years, restaurants and pubs are swarming in the area. Same thing with the cafés and delis!

Not to mention The Mecca of foodies that is the Jean-Talon Market, situated within a short walking distance. Here is something to definitely tickle the taste buds!
